Food Drives

Held every 2nd. Saturday

Our foundation provides food and other necessities to qualified residents of Jacksonville, FL, and the surrounding areas.

A Typical Day in the Life of Safe Future Mobile Food Pantry

  • Volunteers arrive at 8:00 a.m. to prepare for food distribution.

  • Attendees are already in line, some since 7:00 a.m.

  • Attendees continue to wait as volunteers set up the pantry for the day.

  • At 8:45 a.m. volunteers greet clients, pass around refreshments, provide hand sanitizer and guide them to waiting areas.

  • At 9:00 a.m. start to process the food drive participants.

  • Client intake (a sign-in sheet), clients select produce and other items that are available.

  • Clients then wait in turn to shop with points while their children play in our play areas.

  • Once the last food items are gone and the last client leaves, clean up begins.

  • On average we served 170 households (356 children, 318 adults, 91 seniors). A total of 7,563 pounds of food. *each event
